Megan & Nick | Yankton Wedding

September 14th, 2013

I had the privilege to photograph my first Yankton wedding last month! Megan and I went to college together and lived next door to each other for a semester. She was a blast then, and even more now! Her and Nick are high school sweethearts from Yankton and have been through so much in their relationship. Since graduating high school, their entire relationship has been long distance – starting with college on opposite sides of the state and then progressing to Nick living multiple states away. They have a love and respect for each other that permeates through everything they do and say. Their wedding was filled with gobs of emotion and it started bright and early when the girls were getting their hair done. Megan is truly the apple of her dad’s eye and he put together a special gift for her and her mom to open while they were at the salon. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room, including me! Not only does her dad adore her, it is written in Nick’s eyes and actions that he adores Megan just as much and it’s easy to see that Megan feels the same towards Nick. In October, Nick and Megan will pack up their life and head to Guam, as Nick is in the Air Force and is stationed there for a few years. I am so excited for them to be able to have this experience and to start their life together in a new place!

Nick and Megan, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your special day. I wish you two the best as you start your new journey…where ever life takes you!
